History of the Metamorphic Technique
Gaston Saint-Pierre founded the Metamorphic Technique in the late 1970s. He had long held a passionate interest in the whole question of transformation, but also had a deep awareness of why transformation could not be intentionally ‘caused’. His pragmatic response to this paradox emerged when he was inspired by Robert St. John’s work, Pre-Natal Therapy and this helped catalyse his discovery of a unique practice, which he called The Metamorphic Technique. He was careful to give a specific meaning to the word ‘technique’ which he defined as ‘an approach that perfects itself in the practice’, this approach being one of detachment. He later went on to found the international educational charity, The Metamorphic Association in England, which disseminates the Technique worldwide.
Metamorphic Technique Ireland is a non-profit making organisation, operating on a steering group basis, and is an official satellite of the Metamorphic Association in England. It was launched in January 2008 and provides training and a support network for practitioners and
teachers.
Insurance is available to members and Metamorphic Technique Ireland can verify that their members have completed the required level of training to practice. The purpose of the Irish
organisation is to uphold standards in practicing and teaching the Technique and to promote it
throughout Ireland.
